Stocking Our Bar and Seizing Our Clay!

I believe preparing for a wedding...which is in just 2 days now...gives me a free pass to not blog for almost a month. Agreed?

I have been able to make time for a little bit of fun and thought I'd throw a rushed post out there to share with you before we head into the weekend's festivities. We are EXCITED times a million for the fun to begin and for our day to come!

Our friends and families helped stock our reception bar with a fun backyard party!

Meg, Nina, Linz, and Bride

Thank you to all the wonderful people in my life who are so good to me!

Like my matron! Who makes every picture we take look like a little school-girl fan standing next to Supermodel Hiedi Klum! But I love her still.

My girls and I came together for BYOB night at Seize The Clay here in Memphis; a paint-your-own pottery studio that allowed us to lug in our cooler of wine for a night of fun and creativity...Sound like someone you know? :)

At the house before heading out.

Anxiously awaiting my project.

The whole crew of artists for the night.

A paintbrush in one hand and wine in the other...My kind of bachelorette party!

Seany scored brownie points by picking up some Irish Car-Bomb Cupcakes for us as a surprise!

And we came prepared!

Van Gogh, Michelangelo, and Picasso

Looks like Linz made an uh-oh! The dreaded "drop of the paint brush" on your work in progress.

Boo-boo lip.

The more we sipped, the better our creations began to look!

Our instructor definitely had her hands full. Poor Abby.

Too Funny!

My finished but un-fired pasta bowl for Dad!

Hayden going to town on her platter painted with her soon-to-be last initial!

Nina and Ash

Meg and the infamous fish. It just might be found in an art museum one day...

Kissy Kissy

Their days are coming in October and December!

And I am HONORED to be apart of both!

The blondies

Me, Meg, and Linz with our pieces.

G-CLUB!

I didn't get the kiss face memo...

SUCH a fun night! We cannot wait to go back and make some more one of kind masterpieces! Stay tuned for the finished photo of my pasta bowl...It is beautiful!

Wish me luck this weekend. I'll update you after the dust has settled!

XOXO,
Katie

"I'll be Your Honeybee"

My best friend Lindsay and I survived 24 years of friendship growing up together. We waded through the awkward years then graduated together. We survived separate times in our lives in college and came full circle to become established with jobs and homes together. But I think the biggest feat so far...We survived the first of our 2 weddings in 2 months!

Lindsay and Brandon were married Saturday, June 25th in a bright, summer wedding that was a little bit classy, a little bit country and ALOT of fun!

After the rehearsal dinner, logistics of the ceremony and music figured out and speeches over, (phew!) the girls got together at Meg's house to shower Lindsay with goodies for her honeymoon.

{Meg closes the blinds in the background:)}

Brandon is a fireman...how appropriate that this maid of honor asked for a fire engine for christmas when she was 3 and still had it in her attic!

The next day, we gathered for Lindsay's bridesmaids luncheon. It was surprisingly a long, and mostly chill day. We enjoyed relaxing before all the craziness we knew would come later.

{Me and Meg pre-wedding}

{And Showtime!!}

Mommy and Baby Avery relax before the ceremony.

What a precious punkin head!!

Here we go Linz Pooh!

In the beautiful ceremony, short and sweet how we like them, all was a success. Her dad actually gave her away, we didn't trip down the aisle, I didn't drop the ring or bouquet, and they said "I do"!

Her processional song (the song us bridesmaids walked down to) was "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk, one of my favorites.
The recessional song was "Honey Bee" by Blake Shelton. Upbeat and a TON of fun.

::If you'll be my soft and sweet
I'll be your strong and steady
You be my glass of wine
I'll be your shot of whiskey

You be my sunny day
I'll be your shade tree
You be my honeysuckle
I'll be your honeybee::

First dance to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Rod Stewart

Daddy's dance to "Have I Told You Lately"

Precious moment.

There was so much mingling and dancing to be done that I never even got a piece...And I'm still thinking about it!

Linz's girls

And now on to the dance floor!

"Let's Get it On...."

{The three of us have all been best friends since 3rd grade}

{Logan and Sara, Sean and I}

{Us with the Bride and Groom}

Lil ol' me with the big boys!

Nina takes her boy back. Beautiful picture!

One of my favorites from the night!

Two of a Kind...

Nina on drums and Meg on electric guitar to close out the show...

It took me pretty much the entire week to recover and get back on a normal schedule, THEN the 4th of July hit. But it made me so excited for our wedding coming up and for the 2 others I'll be a bridesmaid in this fall and winter. I'm refusing to post countdowns ("** days left!") because I'm trying to forget how fast it's coming and tell myself that I WILL get everything done! Wish me luck...

XOXO,
Katie
